Cattle Operation & Bull Leasing

Homesteaded in 1909 by Martin Jorgensen SR., Jorgensen Land & Cattle is now known for their superior genetics and referred to by many as "The Source". Martin Jorgensen JR. started performance testing in the late 1950's and was a pioneer in performance selection of beef cattle. He started a line breeding program that to this day is one of the most line bred Angus herds in the United States. With the use of all available selection tools such as, ultra-sound and others, Jorgensen Land & Cattle have always been on the cutting edge

The selection for feed conversion will put more money in our customers pocket then any carcass traits can. It is simple, less feed required per animal means you can run more cows on the same acres. It is safe to say that bulls coming from the Jorgensen Land & Cattle program have been time tested and have more lined up pedigrees for the economic traits than any bulls in the United States.


Jorgensen Land & Cattle have built up a bull leasing program where more than 800 bulls are leased annually for about 1/3 of their value for a breeding season of 60 to 90 days. This marketing strategy continues to grow because many producers like not having bulls to care for in the off season. Many bulls are culled from their first breeding season so the remaining bulls go into our SMART bull marketing program where Jorgensen's sells 18 month old or older bulls that have a breeding season of experience to volume buyers at a very affordable price.

Jorgensen Land & Cattle follows a very strict herd health program established by Dr. John Vogelie . We live in a nearly clean tric area and to date Jorgensen Land & Cattle have turned in over 7,000 tric tests and we have yet to have our first positive bull. Jorgensens also test for BVD and does random testing for John's.
