Join our livestock team as a livestock team member. This hands-on role supports daily care and handling of the JLC herd, from pen and fence work to processing and sorting cattle on horseback.

The Livestock Team Member supports day-to-day care and handling of the JLC herd in Ideal, SD. You’ll keep pens and fences in working order, help move cattle through our working facilities, and sort on horseback. You’ll also pitch in wherever the operation needs you. This role suits someone who has livestock experience, is comfortable on a horse and around equipment, and wants to keep learning.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Pen and fence maintenance

• Processing livestock through working facilities

• Sorting animals on horseback

• Assisting with other on-farm activities when needed

Requirements:

• Must have experience working with livestock

• Experience operating machinery (tractors, skid steers, etc.) is preferred

• Experience working on horseback is preferred

• Welding experience is preferred but not necessary

• Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and solve problems
