The spread of Covid-19 throughout our country and the world has created an immense amount of uncertainty. We at Jorgensen Land & Cattle are doing our part, as everyone should, to stop the spread of this illness. Even with our best efforts, we have little control of the situation, but we can control the decisions we make as a business. Therefore, we would like to outline some details about regular course of business changes at JLC.
The Top 100 Bull Sale is still on!
The 48th Annual Jorgensen Land & Cattle “Top 100” Bull Sale is still planned for Monday, April 20th, 2020. One major change to our sale structure is that we are cancelling all in person activities and we will host the bull sale online through DVAuction on sale day. If state or national gathering restrictions are lifted and the risk of Covid-19 appears to be diminishing by April 10th, JLC may reinstate all in person sale related activities. In the event of such change, a social media announcement will be made, and we will do our best to reach out to as many customers as possible to inform them of the change.
We are thankful for the ability to host our sale through the DVAuction channel, as it allowed us to move ahead with hosting the sale on its historic date, even if it will be strictly online. We will be reaching out individually to our list of bull sale customers to ensure they understand the details of bidding online, and will work with those who don’t have sufficient internet access on another arrangement that ensures their fair chance at purchasing the bulls they desire.
While all in person sale related activities are cancelled, we are allowing customers to come view the bulls prior to sale day by appointment only. We will accommodate those who wish to come to the JLC headquarters and view the bulls, but we simply ask that you call our office (1-800-548-2855) ahead of time to schedule an appointment to view the bulls. We also reserve the right to turn an appointment down with anyone we feel may create Covid-19 exposure risk to the team at JLC.
We also plan on live streaming a pre-sale presentation on Sunday, April 19th, 2020. We feel strongly about providing educational and informational opportunities to our customers during our bull sale, and Cody and Nick Jorgensen will present about the Ideal Beef Evaluation. Details and viewing options are forthcoming, so pay attention to our social media accounts for more information on this presentation.

2020 Bull Leasing operations are still on schedule!
Jorgensen Land & Cattle has every intention on operating our bull leasing process normally for the 2020 leasing season. All planned bull deliveries and pickups are still scheduled, and we don’t anticipate any changes to the availability of our bulls or the process of delivery and pickup with our customers. As with the viewing of our sale bulls, we are requesting that any customers interested in viewing their lease bulls or visiting the JLC headquarters do this on an appointment only basis. Once again, please call 1-800-548-2855 to set up a time with our staff and remember that JLC reserves the right to turn an appointment down with anyone we feel may create Covid-19 exposure risk to the team at JLC.
Seed pickup at the JLC Headquarters is still available
Any scheduled pickups of seed purchased from JLC are still planned, and JLC is prepared to fill all current seed contracts in place. We are also still taking 2020 seed orders and will fulfill new orders as supply allows. As with any other in person visit to the headquarters, we ask that our customers arrive on an appointment only basis. Call 1-800-548-2855 to notify us on your planned arrival date and time, and JLC will fulfill any order as planned.
